July 9, 2005 - The 27th annual Hanover Tomato Festival at Pole Green Park in Hanover County, with over 150 vendors. A day of fun in the sun!

November 17, 2004 - Construction of the new Owens & Minor home office is underway in Hanover County. The Fortune 500 medical & surgical supply firm is building its home offices in the Atlee Station Business Park, located on Route 301 near Interstate 295. The project involves construction of a 160,000 square foot office building on a 25-acre tract of land.


Hanover Road Reconstruction


Shady Grove Road section repaired - Sept. 22, 2004

September 12, 2004 - Repair work on Shady Grove Road has started. Many truck loads of fill dirt will be required to replace the section of road washed away by flood waters on August 30.


Rain Reshapes Hanover

September 2, 2004 - More than ten inches of rainfall from Tropical Storm Gaston reshaped parts of Hanover County on the evening of August 30, 2004. Rushing floodwater collapsed a bridge on Route 301 near Hanover Wayside Park (shown above). Swift-moving water also caused major damage to a low section of Shady Grove Road near Route 301 (shown below). Several other sections of roads in Hanover County were also washed away in low areas. Significant floodwater damage also occurred in nearby Richmond and the surrounding counties.
